Essentially,
Marx believed that industrial societies are subject to
breakdown and transformation through class conflict. In fact, it was the industrialization
that occured during
19th century life that spurred Marx into his perpetual
quest to find a solution for the plight of the man caught
in the wheel of modernization. While Marx’s keen
observation of the struggle of the classes is critical to
understanding society, his assumption that a revolution
of sorts would erupt as a result and communism would be
the absolute victor, is flawed..
