First of all,
communism was tried and it failed. Secondly, capitalism
does work and the many years since Marx’s existence
proves that. Still, while his theories on communism may be
rejected, his perceptions on division of labor, and class
conflict, are certainly valid and applicable today to an
extent. His concept of alienation is still present on
assembly lines all over the globe. Like a throw back to
the industrialism of the 1800’s, factories persist as
the world approaches a new millennium.
